What Parents Say

I was starting to despair about how I could help my daughter with her reading. Leigh [literacy specialist] has been a godsend and I feel like my daughter is now making great progress... My daughter is starting to show a keen interest in writing which just shows the plan Leigh has created for us is working.

So thankful for Ms. Leigh and Cultivating Literacy. My daughter was struggling to read, and now she can sit and read chapter books!

The virtual book clubs provide a safe, interactive and meaningful experience for children and parents alike. Every read aloud follows an instructional sequence designed to promote active listening comprehension skills with hands-on approaches that is supported by research-based practices. Through the use of interactive games, children also practice how to identify and match sounds to letters and parents learn how these read-aloud practices continue to support their children’s literacy development.
— Dr. Madeleine Mejia, EdD Director USC Reading and Literacy Added Authorization
My 5-year-old daughter has been participating in the online book clubs from Cultivating Literacy for a couple of months now. It’s literally a party with fun songs, stories, crafts, and holiday-themed activities, all while learning literacy concepts. I can see my daughter showing wonderful progress in her reading abilities through the clubs. She has even started creating her own poems.
